What Is the HP 255R G10?

The HP 255 G10 is part of HP's business-essential laptop range, sitting alongside the HP 240 G10 and HP 250 G10. HP's naming is simple once you know it:

240 = 14-inch, 250 / 255 = 15.6-inch
250 = Intel processor, 255 = AMD Ryzen processor
G10 = 10th generation of the series

So the HP 255R G10 is a 15.6-inch AMD Ryzen business laptop. Compared with HP's consumer HP 15 laptops, the 255 G10 adds practical work features like a spill-resistant keyboard, a fingerprint reader and a privacy shutter, which offices and freelancers appreciate.

AMD Ryzen 5 7535U: Efficient 6-Core Performance

The AMD Ryzen 5 7535U has 6 cores and 12 threads, boosting up to 4.55GHz with 16MB of L3 cache. It's designed for efficiency, balancing performance and battery life.

It handles these smoothly:

Office work: Microsoft Word, Excel with large spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Google Workspace
Online meetings: Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, including screen sharing
Freelancing: browser-based tools, WordPress, Canva, basic Photoshop and data entry
Study: online classes, research with many browser tabs, assignments and coding practice

The built-in AMD Radeon 660M graphics are stronger than many basic integrated GPUs. They handle 1080p video playback, light photo editing and older or casual games. For serious gaming, see the HP Victus options below.

16GB DDR5 RAM: More Memory Than Most in Its Class

Many laptops around BDT 70,000–80,000 still ship with 8GB of RAM. The HP 255R G10 comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory, which makes a real difference:

Keep dozens of browser tabs open without slowdowns
Run Excel, Teams and a browser side by side
Get longer useful life, because 16GB will stay comfortable for years

Combined with the 512GB NVMe SSD, Windows boots quickly and apps open in seconds. Note that this model has no extra SSD slot, so if you need more storage later, use an external drive or replace the existing SSD. See our SSD collection.

Built for Work: Keyboard, Security and Privacy

This is where the HP 255R G10 stands out from consumer laptops:

A spill-resistant backlit keyboard protects against accidental tea or coffee spills and lets you type in dim rooms
A full numeric keypad, essential for accountants, bankers and anyone who works with numbers
A fingerprint reader for fast, secure login with Windows Hello (after Windows is installed)
A camera privacy shutter, a physical cover for your webcam
A mic mute key that mutes your microphone instantly during calls
Firmware TPM support for Windows 11 security features

Display, Connectivity and Battery

Display: the 15.6-inch Full HD anti-glare screen reduces reflections under office lights and is comfortable for documents and spreadsheets. At 250 nits with 45% NTSC colour, it's designed for everyday work rather than professional colour editing.

Connectivity:

Wi-Fi 6 (2×2) and Bluetooth 5.3 for fast, stable connections
HDMI for a projector or external monitor
Two USB-A ports for a mouse, pen drive or printer
One USB-C port for data transfer. Note: this USB-C port doesn't support charging or display output.

Battery: the 41Wh battery supports fast charging, about 50% in 45 minutes, using the included 45W HP adapter. At 1.66kg, it's easy to carry to the office or campus.

Free Laptop Bag Included

The HP 255R G10 comes with a laptop bag in the box, so you're ready to carry it from day one. Want extra protection or a different style? See our laptop bags.

Important: Ships with FreeDOS

This laptop comes with FreeDOS, not Windows. You'll need to install Windows 11 before use. Ask our team about Windows installation when you buy.
